My Story

Hi, I am Alexa a female psychotherapist and art therapist at Exclusive Wellbeing in Paramatta.

I would love to be there with and for you on your healing journey. We all go through times in life when experiences feel larger than words. Times that we are navigating stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, a major life transition, or an experience that continues to affect you long after it has passed. Sometimes we may simply feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer seem to work. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and explore new ways of relating to yourself, your experiences, and the people around you.

My Approach

My approach is grounded in the belief that people are not problems to be fixed. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I am interested in understanding the experiences, relationships, and patterns that have shaped who you are and how you have learned to navigate life. Often, the ways we once learned to cope can later become the very patterns that leave us feeling stuck.

I work from narrative and psychodynamic approaches, with a particular interest in identity, “meaning making”, and the emotional experiences that often sit beneath the surface of everyday life. When appropriate, I integrate Art Therapy to support deeper exploration and insight.

I integrate psychotherapy with Art Therapy, offering another therapeutic pathway for people who feel that words alone are not enough. While conversation remains central to my work, creative processes can help access thoughts, emotions, and experiences that are sometimes difficult to express through language alone. I’ve seen the healing power of art therapy. You absolutely don’t need to be artistic to benefit from Art Therapy. The focus isn’t on creating artwork; rather using creativity as a tool for reflection, understanding, and meaningful psychological change. You may wish to give it go, if not, we can use any other therapy modality that suits your needs, the aim is supporting your healing process the best.

Above all, I aim to offer a warm, collaborative, and reflective space where you don’t need to have everything figured out;  only a willingness to be curious about what is happening for you.

Who I Work With

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout
  • Depression and persistent low mood
  • Trauma and adverse life experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship and attachment difficulties
  • Life transitions and adjustment
  • Identity, self-worth, and self-esteem concerns
  • Emotional overwhelm or feeling “stuck”

Many of the people I work with are trying to make sense of experiences that feel difficult to put into words. Some have found themselves repeating the same emotional or relationship patterns despite understanding them intellectually. Others simply feel exhausted from carrying everything on their own.

Whether you’re navigating a current challenge or trying to understand experiences that have followed you for years, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, and begin moving forward in a way that feels meaningful to you.

Professional Background

My clinical experience includes providing psychotherapy and Art Therapy within public mental health services, supporting people experiencing a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for human resilience and reinforced my belief that meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely understood.

I hold a Master of Art Therapy and am a Registered Art Therapist (ANZACATA). I am also a Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

Working Together

Every person’s story is different, and therapy should reflect that.

Some people begin therapy with clear goals, while others arrive with only a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right. Both are welcome. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe and collaborative, exploring what has shaped your experiences, identifying patterns that may no longer be serving you, and finding new ways of responding that feel more aligned with who you are.
