Ms Payal Parmar, MAPSClinical Psychologist
Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Master of Psychology (Clinical)
Payal is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and an associate member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She has a special interest in working with older adolescents and adults, utilising a wide range of approaches and techniques that can provide every client with an individualised experience.
Payal’s work is based on the belief that people want to be happy and content in their lives and that they have the resources within themselves to achieve these goals. She believes that psychotherapy can help individuals most effectively use their resources to increase self-awareness and understanding, to improve decision-making, to let go of emotional suffering and to create paths to the lives they want.
She offers compassionate therapeutic approach that includes psychotherapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive therapy, Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT), Schema therapy, Dialectical Behaviour therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief therapy, Existential therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy and Attachment-based psychotherapy for a diverse range of psychological difficulties.
